La nomenclature des affaires civiles recouvre l'ensemble des domaines juridiques qui relèvent de la compétence des juridictions civiles, sociales et commerciales. Son objectif est de décrire les demandes dont sont saisies les juridictions civiles à titre principal, dans les différents secteurs des relations juridiques. Elle constitue, à cet égard, la source exclusive d'informations sur les aspects juridiques des demandes en justice. Cette information présente un grand intérêt tant pour la gestion des affaires dans la juridiction que pour la connaissance de l'activité judiciaire.
La nomenclature des procédures particulières regroupe les demandes visant à l'application devant les juridictions civiles de procédures particulières. Elle complète la description de l'affaire effectuée par la nomenclature des affaires civiles.
Ces deux nomenclatures sont communes à l'ensemble des juridictions civiles. Une notice de présentation générale, également incluse dans le fichier publié, fournit un descriptif de leur fonctionnement assorti des références aux textes, de nombreux exemples, ainsi qu’un ensemble de consignes de codage et d’application à l’usage du greffe.
**Avertissement** : un décalage temporel peut exister entre la mise à jour des nomenclatures par le service compétent de la DACS et la mise à jour subséquente des applicatifs métiers du ministère de la justice.
